We sure are doing better in Slidell D-L. Businesses are thriving and homes are being rebuilt or raised (as my home has been). As a product of NO public schools 40 yrs ago I understand your frustration. Somehow I think we were pretty lucky compared to the present. I am so happy for those poor families in NO. Now maybe this kids have a chance in life. It's been a tough 5 years, but the LA spirit cannot be drowned!!
If it walks like a Muslim & talks like a Muslim----it's a Muslim!!
St Joseph's Abbey is also used as a teaching seminary for young men going into the priest in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, thus the Abbey pays for the upkeep of those buildings used for education. The monks provide the education and spiritual mentorng of these young men. All this costs money too. They also sponsor retreats and the like on the property. I have spent several weekends on the gounds participating in these spiritual retreats. The impact on the local community is tremendous. This is just another attack on the Catholic Church only this one hits very close to home. Abbot Justin is one of the holiest men I have ever met. These monks are loved by the whole community. They are so dear and near to our hearts here, they are like our family. Please pray for this group of righteous men that they may continue to serve the people here in Southeast LA.
I personally know and love these holy monks, My husband and I plan to be buried in one of these simple & beautiful caskets. We also know the woman and her deceased husband. He is buried on the grounds of the Abbey. This is scandilous!! The government controls us even in death. I pray the monks win this suit and can continue thIs century old tradition. Oh, they also make delicious bread....here comes the food police!
How ebarrassing! I know and love these monks. I also know the lady and her husband who died and was buried in one of their coffins. He is buried on the grounds of the Abbey. My husband and I also wish to be buried in one of the monks simple and beautiful coffins. So this is personal to me. Even in death the government has control of us. I pray the monks win the right to continue ths century old practce. Oh, they make delcious bread too! Here comes the food police!
There are thousands of workers who do not work on the platforms, but service the workers who do. They supply transportaton back and forth to the wells. They supply food and equipment to the workers. Trickle down umemployment is real.
Thank you Bobby for standing up for all us Louisianians. May God bless you and your family abundantly.
Just for clarificaton, Billy Nungessor is the President of Plaquemines Parish, South of Orleans Parish. He left the Democratic Party years ago and became a Republican. The people of Southeast LA are suffering greatly. We are still recovering from Katrina and now this regime wants to kill us all together with the oil spill. However these people will not roll over and will fight every inch of the way to gain their lives and livelihood back. Yes, we are a proud people! Give em hell Billy!
Please sir, do not lump all Franciscans into the same heap. I am a Franciscan and I can honestly tell you I have never met a Franciscan who WASN"T a staunch pro-lifer and traditional marriage believer. It would seem to me that most politicians forget their Catholic values as evidenced by the Kennedy's.
I agree with you that we need more true Christians in the Republican Party. Not only those who pay lip service to their faith, but live it within their own lives and in their politics. This great Country would be far better off if we got back to the Judeo-Christian ethic our Founding Fathers had.
Time will tell. Till then I pray for the salvation of this Nation.
HIGH TREASON at that! Our troops put their lives on the line everyday for our freedoms, while BHO plays politics. Seems to me that he is not really concerned about our freedoms, just his own power. Tyranny!!
