The Spicy Cauldron : Poem: Why Don't We Say Grace Any More?

I so agree Ruthie, I think very few people teach their children to be thankful, it's just not the whole ethos in the world today, it's I want/expect/need instead of oh wow, aren't I blessed to have.

The Spicy Cauldron : A new home for the accidental cockerel?

How's Captain Buttercup liking his new night time des res? Is he making it awkward to put him in or has he been too sleepy to notice? Hope he is being co-operative and that he keeps his crowing to a minimum, for now at least!

Beautiful poem hun, the comp doesn't read it as well as you! The English teacher was only pointing out yesterday that poems are mostly designed to be listened to :o)

the other morning .... oh yes .... I set three alarms on my mobile, with the alarm clock across the room set to go off after the first one ... Thursday I think it was ... the siren alarm got repeated!!! Snuggling under the duvet, even by oneself, such a yummy feeling :o)

The Spicy Cauldron : So-called Doctor Who fans diss someone they know nothing about

My main reaction is aghast horror that they're telling us who the next doctor is going to be at all! We are SO not supposed to find out who it is until we watch him regenerate in the next series!!!!!!!! As for any and all morons who are dissing Matt Smith before he's even chosen his outfit, never mind actual seen him in character ... well ... I think it's all been said :o) ... but I do think he looks like he'll fit in fine, especially if he keeps to that darker look as in the above photo ;o)

The Spicy Cauldron : Our Yule tree

When the option was cough up for a tree plus all the necessary decs or accept this one from my mam who'd just bought a 1/2 tree to stand against the wall instead ... I said thank you and took the fibre optic. Have to admit though when it's just me in the house I don't generally have it switched on. ____I don't 'do' actually outside lights, my mam does, each year there seems to be something extra but even she doesn't go as mad as some houses in town. Their walls are covered in flashing stars and santas and trees etc etc. I thought there'd be fewer people going so all out with the country being as it is this year ... guess that is too logical for most people ... more lights = larger electric bill ... wouldn't think that was too hard to realise!

I've written a poem but I don't think it meets the requirements ... here's the link anyway. http://beaut1ful.wordpress.com/2008/12/17/poem-th... I've been trying to write a christmas themed blog but it reads like a pile of spaghetti at the moment so, while it will probably end up posted, it'll probably not be before the deadline.

I like your tree :o) Our decs are up now but the tree has nothing on it at all, it's an optic(?light along 'nylon' threads) cable tree which you're not allowed to hang things on. Have a few other bits up but don't have that many decs, do have one 'outside' light, a snowman stuck to the inside of the front window, pre-xmas present from my mam last year lol.
