This is the tyranny of the materialists (Dialectic, Historical, etc) because what they (in this case the Chi-Coms) want is a docile and compliant population. Yes, boys and girls even in the worker's paradise of communist China there is a 1%, they just happen to be the Party Leaders and other political big-wigs. The 1% in this country got there by any combination of hard work, intelligence, craftiness, inheritance or being the vacuous crotch-fruit of a famous family (a.k.a.winning the sperm lottery) e.g. the Hiltons, et al. The 1% in China got there the old fashioned way, by being on the operating end of a gun.

The resurrection of the U.S. auto industry was good for middle class America, and as we have repeatedly observed over the past 3 years, if it is good for the vast majority of Americans, then it is bad for the GOP. It was only good for the UAW. The Obama administration screwed GM Bondholders, and the retirement funds of the glorious workers for whom Pres. Obama is supposed to be looking out. There are plenty of engineers in this country. What there is a lack of is CHEAP engineers. The H1B Visa program allows companies to import cheaper foreign engineers who are only here temporarily. This is the best of both worlds for many companies, cheaper than a U.S. citizen engineer and no long term carrying costs (salary, benefits, 401k, etc).
