News From Antiwar.com : NATO Chief: No Summit Unless Russia Agrees to Missile Defense System

Another point: If Iran wanted to launch missles against somebody, Poland, Czeck Republic, Slovakia, and Romania would be the least likely targets. It is not those countries that are threatening Iran! In the unlikely event that Iran attacked anyone, it would be against Israel, Saudi Arabia or one of the Gulf states. Those are the countries, with the connivance of the US, that are threatening to attack Iran, not eastern Europe.

All you have to do is look at a globe to see how nonsensical these "anti-missle" bases are. If they are to defend against Iranian missles, why in the hell are the bases way up along the Polish-Russian border? Why wouldn't the bases form some sort of ring around Iran if that's who they're protecting against? Secondly, why is the US the country busily building and lobbying for these bases? The alleged Iranian missles aren't threatening the US at all! If Europe feels threatened by Iran then why doesn't Europe build the bases and the US butt out? The answer is twofold: 1) The US's goal is to dominate the entire world. These bases are just one little building block in that process. 2) A specific US goal is to encircle Russia and China with bases and missles so they (Russia & China) can never threaten peoples outside their borders. The US seems to miss the point that it is the US, through its hegomonic activities, that is the primary impediment to world peace, and the primary cause of terrorism and unrest around the globe.

What in the hell is the West doing, "training" troops in Afghanistan? Why increase militirism around the world? If Afghanistan didn't have an army before, why are we forcing one on them now? One they can't even afford to maintain already!
News From Antiwar.com : Will Santorum's 'No Palestine' Comments Backfire?

Santorems opining on other peoples and other regions of the the world and how they should run their affairs is an example of the interventionist mindset.____ The mentality seems to be that the US is the master of the universe, and all the other little countries of the world must bow down and listen to what the master country, (the US), has planned for them. Being responsible for the goings on in the entire planet is such an awesome responsibility, but thankfully **Rick Santorem** has thought about all this, and has the wisdom to know what is best for all of our territories. After all, he has 7 kids, and is Catholic, and believes in God. With his vast experience and store of knowledge, certainly he can be trusted to do God's will.

"Despite harsh rebukes from US officials..." This is the kind of US arrogance that makes my blood boil. It has to stop.

How is it that the US seems to have such power over other nations, in particular, over Europe? Why can't they just say "no" or "go take a hike"? There must be some other lever that the US is using, beyond personal, one-on-one pressure. Is it the thousands of US soldiers in their respective countries? Is it some historical respect for the US that is now misplaced? When are they going to wake up?
