Big Hollywood : ObamaCare: A Good Night For Tyranny

70% of Americans support health care reform. That's not the same thing as "public health care" by a long shot. There are plenty of villains on both sides of the debate. The public wants the issues of cancellations, denial of coverage, pre-existing conditions and insurance competition resolved. The answer isn't government control of the market. "One size fits all" results in a bad fit for most. If that makes your stomach turn, I'd suggest you make an appointment with a public health service where you will be misdiagnosed by the marginal graduate of a marginal medical school who couldn't get through the training at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Are Kutcher and Roberts paired up in this movie? They'd be the perfect pair. Right age difference, right overacting, right intelligence-level. Just like real life!

I'm with you, Hamilton. I use IntenseDebate at Big Hollywood, but had trouble posting here in the past, and my avatar didn't show up. It looks like the Commentarama team has done a good job of keeping up with the Joneses (and the Breitbarts).

LawHawkSF: I don't get it either. Fox News Channel fired Hill as a paid contributor when his true background finally got out. Why the Fox hosts continue to feature him is beyond me and my friends who watch Red Eye. As you said, they're free to do that, and we're free to watch re-runs on another channel.

Sanmon--What are you talking about? Do you just write to see your name in lights? If you want to make an argument, make an argument. But tossing illiterate and disjointed comment bombs at people who are obvious conservatives just because they disagree with you on a small point is just plain ignorant.
Add my rear-end to your count. If this keeps growing as it seems to be doing, I think it might hit that 300,000 to 500,000 mark, and that's one helluva lot of people. I've seen CNN and their ilk turn large crowds into small ones and small ones into large ones simply by framing the shot right. But the long shot from above tells it all, and it can't be denied. The numbers vary only by how tightly the crowds are packed, and these look pretty tightly-packed.

I'm going to be doing some shopping there in a couple of days (though it will be limited, I'm not a rich yuppie). Commentarama had a good article on Mackey and his organization today called Liberal Businessman Bears False Witness (at least I think that was the title).

Big Hollywood : Health Reform and the Tenth Amendment

Charles--I have sat on the board of several mid-size to large corporations, and have been the CEO of one. In nearly all of them, we used independent auditors, and though I have little faith in government, the audit of the fed which I read seemed as thorough and critical as any I've ever seen. I saw at least one of those previous audits of the fed which was highly, and justifiably critical of the political interference with the proper duties of the Inspectors General. I can't vouch for the independent audit of the fed, but it looked rather professional, and it certainly wasn't giving the fed a clean bill of health.

Big Hollywood : A Thief in the Night: Veterans' Land Grab

I read that as a more general attack. So I'll back off. I'm sure Old Tom can defend himself, but the way I read it, he wasn't attacking her credibility, he was merely observing that there are those who do not support the vets who would use it to attack her credibility. I guess sometimes we say things that in retrospect didn't come out exactly the way we expected. Another thing I discovered awhile back when I first came to this site, if I saw something that looked hinky, I first clicked on the person's ID to see what they had said in the past and who they might be. Old Tom is very conservative, and retired from the Air Force. He's a Reagan Republican. That doesn't sound like someone who would attack veterans benefits. Then I clicked on your ID, and see two people very committed to veterans and their well-being. I found it a little confusing at that point trying to fathom why you would be so negative toward a retired vet. It appears that there have been many missed subtleties all the way around.

Did you bother to actually read either of the suggestions from Space_Commando and LawhawkSF? And did you bother to read the comments on the rest of this thread, including the very nice exchange between Jeani and the others? Can you tell us what credibility of Jeani's anyone questioned? Or did you just feel that you had to hop into the beginning of a very long discussion and give your opinion without reading the whole exchange of ideas? What grammatical superiority contest? What does that even mean? If you're going to get into the world of political discussions, I think you had better develop a less itchy trigger finger and a little thicker skin. Only liberals expect to live in a world free of offense, and normally they are the only ones who go looking for offense where there isn't any.

Hawk: Are you seeing those black helicopters again? I'm guessing Space Commando and you actually only saw a spelling mistake, and tried to get the author to correct it. I don't know about you, but I've seen article after article on conservative sites talking about "creative spelling" and "ebonics" and their negative effects on the English language. It sort of looks as if your buddies like creative spelling, and think that it has no effect on the way people view a writer. You got your point across, so who cares about spelling? I'm also guessing they are not much on ebonics though.
