We were created for His pleasure, and He must get a lot of laughs, (as well as sorrow), from us these days. So we're not a Christian nation. That's strange, there sure does seem to be an awful lot of documentation, written by the founding fathers, to indicate that this nation was indeed founded upon Judeo-Christian values and principles. Leave it to the intellectuals and progressives to shift the nation's foundation off of a God-given cornerstone, (1 Peter 2 : 6-8), for a foundation of dust (Genesis 2 : 7). What would Jesus do? Scripture records that He had some rather scathing remarks for the pharisees whom He accused of placing loads upon people that they themselves weren't willing to carry (Matthew 23 : 2-4). How are politicians that levy taxes which they themselves are unwilling to pay, any different?

Freedom can only truly exist in a moral society.

God save us from the intellectuals, the progressives, and the mindless lemmings that are willing to follow them right over a clift. At least they're consistant; they don't believe in trickle down prosperity, but they don't comprehend trickle down taxes either. Why is it that some people actually believe that businesses, large and small, will absorb the additional expenses that come from higher taxes and energy costs and not pass it on to the rest of us? Are they counting on another "tax credit" to defray the additional cost to individuals making less than $250,000.00 a year? It's only a tax credit if you're paying taxes in the first place, otherwise it's just another government handout. What happens when the government runs out of other people's money to give away? I guess we'll see how popular these politicians are then.

Point taken. But also, here lies the problem - if this were to go to trial, you would have lawyers representing lawyers, which would be a conflict of interest. Career politicians and lawyers ensnare and bind people with words while picking their pockets, all while producing absolutely nothing. A statement like, "We hold these truths to be self evident........" becomes open for argument and interpretation. They tear away at the very foundation of "truth"until all of society becomes unstable. It's not about truth or justice, it's all about power. Maybe the only hope is through term limits, but as soon as they attain the position, they'll begin an assult on the legislation that limits their term; it will be hidden in a confusingly lengthy bill that gets passed in the middle of the night.

Restrict lawyers from being able to serve in either the executive or legislative branches of government as a conflict of interest. If a person so chooses to pursue a career in the legal profession, they need to do so knowing that the pinnacle of their career can be no higher than appointment to the supreme court.

Martin Luther infuriated the Catholic church by translating the bible from Latin, which only the clergy could understand, to German which could be understood by every literate German. The failure of the "common people" to be able to read and understand what was written gave the church a great measure of power and control through manipulation of the word. There can be no doubt that legal professionals serving in government do their best to over-complicate every piece of legislation in such a way as to guarantee job security and ensure the neccessity to have legal professionals at every level of government to interpret it. Our tax codes are a prime example.

Term limits for ALL elected and appointed government officials. At the end of the term, they go home without the benefit of a "taxpayer provided" continuous source of income. Maybe if they know they have to go back to work in the private sector, maybe they'll think twice about any legislation that has a negative affect upon the private sector.

Enforce Immigration Laws. Essentially, what is going on is no different than if somebody were able to circumvent the security measures of your home and gain entry, not only would you not be allowed to eject them from the premises, but you would be required to provide them with room, board, and medical care. Should they give birth during the "home invasion", their child becomes a legal heir, entitled to a portion of the family inheritance, the same as your own children. A wrong does not make a right; we should not overlook the fact that the parents presence in the country is the result of a criminal act and automatically award citizenship to the child. No more "anchor" babies!
