New Betas: IntenseDebate Google Reader & Bloglines Plugins for Firefox 2 & 3

All right, here’s the skinny. We’re getting ready to release our new Google Reader and Bloglines plugins for Firefox 2 & 3 and we’re looking for beta testers.

This isn’t your normal run of the mill RSS reader integration. Our Google Reader and Bloglines plugins allow you to not only access IntenseDebate comments, but also respond to them directly from your reader! Amazing right?!?! I’ve got to tell you, I’ve been playing around with our Google Reader plugin on Firefox 3 for the past week and it is so choice.

If you’re interested in testing out our betas please drop me a line at support@intensedebate.com and we’ll get you all set up.

Start getting excited!

  2. Not at the moment, but we've had 3 or 4 other requests for an ID blog list just this week, so I think we better make one! I'll bring it up with the team and we'll look into it. In the meantime I recommend checking out other IntenseDebaters' profiles to see where they've been commenting recently.

    Cheers,
    Michael

  6. So, first impression: It works very well but it seems not to count the comments correctly.

  7. Honestly that smells a little spammy, but you have a pretty decent reputation using IntenseDebate so we'll give emailing you a try.

  8. I believe feedly aggregates Bloglines but not Google Reader. Is that correct? Honestly, I'm not sure if it will work, but feel free to give it a try. Please let me know how it goes.

    Cheers,
    Michael

  9. Ok. We're aware of 1 bug for the Google Reader beta. The comment count for each post get a little wonky when viewing in the Expanded View. Please use the List View.

  11. I'd love to try it but for some reason, mozilla is making it impossible to sign up with their dumb captchas.

  13. The plugin is top notch! As I view most blogs through my Google Reader it's sweet being able to use it to respond to them as well.

  19. This is a comment layout setting. If you select the blog title (permalink) you will be taken to a new tab where the comments are displayed. Quico can set it up this way on his blog as well.

Are you still experiencing Safari issues?

    Thanks again Edgar,
    Michael

  20. Hey intense debate team, do you have a list posted online of the websites that use your commenting system? It would be great to see who all is using it, and it would probably be nice to generate the hits on the other sites through here.

  21. Hey Michael, just around here testing with Safari. I was already logged-in in Quico's blog before I came here, and then I found another bug. I cannot logout in this blog!!!!

I'll try testing later when I can quit Safari and get back in.

  22. Ok, after I was automatically logged out, I logged back in here. In this case I am not sure if it is a bug or it is the expected behavior, I got dropped on the main blog window, so I had to click back in the comments to write this.

I notice that in this blog the behavior is different. The comments are 'trapped' inside a scroll field in the main blog pages and you have no way to open a separate comment window. In Quico's blog if you click on the 'comment field after a post it opens a separate window or tab. So, the equivalent behavior to what I see here is to drop you back into an 'empty window' after you log in. While here it drops you back into the main blog page.

  24. That's awesome that you released these to the general public. One small suggestion: maybe put an update on this blog entry so that people realize you can actually get the extensions. Had I not read the comments, I wouldn't have realized the extension was available.
