lol that's a harsh critique, but I get the point. It really is funny how muc hkids retain in Sunday School. Alot of times its comical how you try to describe moral issues to them without their knowledge of "gray" areas. Its either black or whtie to them, no in between... Keeps you on your toes

I call BS on a little kid writing that! Puns like "split the Adam" or "as long as he was Abel" or Charleton Heston references didn't come from a child...which means instead, some adult sat down and wrote this as if he were a little kid, cute mistakes and all. That's a little creepy to me. It should be "The Bible through the eyes of a disturbingly childlike adult". Not to ruin it for you...it was still pleasant.

Well, I have heard extreme reviews from both corners - either the next best thing to the Bible or absolute sacrilege. I picked it up awhile ago, mostly because of the endorsements on the book which compared it to Pilgrim's Progress. I would agree with your assessment that this book would not come close to standing the test of time like Bunyan's classic. Nor did it challenge my mind and faith as Pilgrim's Progress did. I do agree with Darlene, however, that it might help one who has wandered from God and is struggling through a difficult circumstance. Not the worst, not the best but maybe a little light to point someone to the Light of the World.

I'm not sure of the accuracy of this type of research. The graph showed Christmas as a "happy day" but more suicides are committed on Christmas (and around Christmas time) than any other day of the year....

Not because he's a Dell rep and has grown up on PC's. Bet because the type of user he is doesn't allow for him to use a Mac. He is fine with a shitty OS as long as he feels he's completely in control of it. On top of that, he actually recognizes that there is a difference between the Mac and the PC. he's just taking a stance on one end. If you really believe that the two are the same, stop using Vista. Or better yet, uninstall OS X from your Mac and simply use your MacBook Pro as a Vista Machine. I challenge you to try that.

1. No one cares. I mind as well make it Iphone... 2. Then I guess I can. The operation is so like that of Vista and the quality is identical to my last few Dells. 3. The statement was that I did not take notice while he was talking/ordering his food. Then he proceeded to sit on a chair and wait, giving me an easier view. 4. I was being facetious. Clearly, your view is that Apple/Mac have always tried to be better. My view is that they sell by being different, better or not. 5. Notice, two different devices. Not trying to be a dick (minus response number 1), but I feel I need to point out a few things to you... 1) It's called the iPhone 3GS (no space) 2) You're full of shit if you say you can't tell the difference between the operation or quality of a mac product. 3) The statement "I noticed he sent at least one text message, checked stocks, and started reading from Kindle for iPhone", contradicts the statement "didn’t take much of a notice other than he was talking while ordering his food". Did you really hover over his shoulder, (being the apple hater that you are) just to see what he was doing? Why do I get the feeling that the things you noticed were really just features you know it has? Sounds like editorial license to me. 4) Where in the world did you come up with the "unwritten rule in the technology industry to only make things easy for the younger kids". I challenge that rule in general, but Apple's rule has always been to make the device the smoothest and most beautiful experience for anyone who touches it (Old or Young). 5) If "the generation of people that cannot seem to find the on switch for a desktop are able to run their lives from a cell phone", how is it that you "don’t notice the 'major difference' in operation or quality of the devices"? 6) Your post and title are heavily anti-Apple, yet your point is that Apple is marketing genius?

We recently lost our son and brother to alcoholism and my sister in law gave some or our family members this book to read. Fantastic book but I believe it makes a bigger impression on someone that has maybe forgotten God or hasn't been introduced to him. I am Catholic so my own faith is helping me thru this awful time but I highly recommend the book to anyone to read and take from it the meaning you receive, not mine nor anyone else's, just your own.

WOW this is a great book. I couldn't sit it down. A friend of my encouraged me to read it, and i am glad i did. God is so powerful, He could speak to you in many ways, if we choose to open our hearts and listen. The Shack is a must read!
