eeffect - Good-bye hand-me-down PC. HELLO MusicMaker!

The PC is here and is fully operational! It wasn't without calamity, however. Turns out that the RCA outs on my Edirol UA-4FX (See my STUDIO page for more info) act like antennas and transmit much of the noise generated from nearby PC components to my KRK Rokit 8 monitors. Believe me, it took some doing to figure out that that is where it was coming from, but I finally isolated it through much experimentation and trips to Radio Shack and digital trips to Blue Jeans Cable. It's funny because my new studio PC was generating a B6 note in the form of a metallic ringing sound from either the PSU or the video card. This was virtually inaudible with the speakers off since my PC is virtually silent, but when I turned the speakers on it was like Chinese water torture...without the water and and with more consistency...I guess it was more just like torture. Anyway, the ringing was being picked up by my RCA jacks on the UA-4FX and transmitted to my monitors where it was being broadcast back to my ears hugely amplified. Not good. My solution was to bypass these RCA jacks like so. I just used my digital optical out on the UA-4FX to go into this little gem: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013LWK3A/ref=o... It's converts the digital signal from the UA-4FX to analog so I use my LC-1 RCA cables (from here) to go out to my KRK monitors. No more ringing! So I didn't actually get the gremlins OUT of my studio, but we can now live in peace together. If they move over to my optical out, though, then the blinds are coming open!

eeffect - Good-bye hand-me-down PC. HELLO MusicMaker!

Another good reason to have a professional perform your installation: compatibility issues. Turns out my system as configured above has trouble reading the Mushkin memory. Sometimes it reads it as 10 GB installed and then when you reboot it sees 12 GB. The good news is that EndPCNoise figured this out and replaced it with Kingston memory. Works fine now they say. Another new development is that they could not get the Radeon 4850 card for my rig. Their source either isn't getting any more in or Radeon has stopped producing them. Good news is they upgraded me to the Radeon HD 5750 for no additional cost! You can do some pretty wicked stuff with this card such as game with 1-6 screens! One other thing I forgot to mention before. EndPCNoise takes care of cooling your rig appropriately for the configuration you chose. If this PC is as good as it sounds in theory then I'm going to be so excited I might start using some pirate exclamations.

It seems to flow the best if I emphasize the "na", but I'm just not sure. Can I get a little help with the proper inflection so I'm not saying it in an offensive or inappropriate way?

I had wondered where some of your comments came from all these years. Now I know. P.S.
