I am still waiting for a single heterosexual to explain how same-sex marriage has harmed their marriage. I do, however, know of one person whose sex life is increasingly threatened by same-sex marriage: Larry Craig, who will find that too many gay men are busy with happy marriages to want to have sex in an airport washroom.

Don't congratulate yourself just yet. I believe there are still more ballots to be counted in the coming days. Although Begich's lead may widen as the final ballots are counted, it could also swing back toward Stevens. Regardless, it will end up being a very close one. I don't know what Alaska law says about when recounts are necessary, but I strongly suspect that one will be requested when it is this damn close.

By my count, 29,249,793 people live in states in the US where same-sex marriages will be legally valid. This will be nearly 30 million people witnessing every day that the presence of same-sex marriage does not endanger opposite-sex marriage at all. Their observations will impact the beliefs of the rest of the country, where the opposition to same-sex marriage will be quite literally dying off in the coming years.

I don't have the patience to respond to the preceding comments. I will simply observe that, sadly, the Muslims who respond to ChickenGirl's comments are rarely American Muslims. They would show a greater awareness as to how Victorian parts of the US can be. Although I disagree with all Muslims to the extent that I believe their religious beliefs to be factually incorrect (as virtually all religious faith tends to be), I do have respect for those who are willing to admit the offensiveness of most aspects of religious texts and accordingly interpret them into meaninglessness.

I don't have an imam and have NEVER spoken to one in my life!! all the knowledge I have of my religion is what I have researched and not from any imam.I'm not aware of islamic countries buying and selling nine-year old girls. Why don't you provide me with the authentic islamic source you're getting your information from to support your allegations. Because it seems your view on the religion of Islam is based on several lies and I'm 110% sure you've never been to Yemen, but you obviously feel you have adequate knowledge to pass comment on the place!
