Heh. I actually considered that when I saw your Lijit one. I just wasn't sure if the interface made sense... I guess I could just make one to post a new comment (as opposed to a reply) on the current post you're on when you type the command...just haven't decided how useful that actually is. In other words...I'm open minded and looking for suggestions. Maybe a command to take you to a random IntenseDebate enabled blog?

Ah....thank you for the correction. I guess I've written too much PHP as of late. As for the innerHTML issues, I alluded to this above. This can be avoided by removing the element from the dom before manipulation and then adding it back in after manipulation. This method has some performance gains many times as well, so worth considering.

Your JavaScript example uses PHP style string appending vs. JavaScript style. What you want is: var innerHTML = "<div>"; innerHTML += "Inner Contents"; innerHTML += "</div>"; element.innerHTML = innerHTML; as for the advantages/disadvantages of innerHTML vs. building up a DOM using DOM methods keep in mind that IE has some serious issues with inserting .innerHTML on tables, select elements, and certain block level divs. see here for details http://webbugtrack.blogspot.com/2007/12/bug-210-n...and here http://webbugtrack.blogspot.com/2007/10/bug-124-s... are just a couple of them.
