The “dot trick” will not work with a Google Apps address. If you are using Google Apps (for domains), rather create a nickname for your email address, or set a wildcard account.

It's a little "homebrew" and requires a Twilio account for the text messages at the moment. If there's more interest I might consider packaging it up a little cleaner and/or making a simple service out of it.

Someone please find those POS people and shoot them on sight. And to think... I'm a liberal. I swear, living in this area really changes the way you look at things. I have never lived in area with such brutal people. That poor woman -- how awful. I know that families try to look out for their own, often taking them in even when they don't deserve it. Is it the lack of vitamin D here? Is it the judicial system? and economy that shifted away from blue collar workers years ago?

Thanks for this! Saves me a lot of time. I did opt to use newEl = oldEl.cloneNode(true); so that the child elements would be copied over too. I'm not sure if there's a performance hit for that (probably).

If you are using Windows XP, but on the NTFS partition, instead of MKLINK you would require the LINKD.EXE available from the resource kit for Windows Server (search for rktools on MS site).

Creating a symlink is much easier than he's describing here's what you do: Open two finder windows, the first should be ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/ (this should be empty if you deleted it earlier) the other is /dropbox/ (you should see your goofy named profile folder and the firefox-profile like he made. now all you have to do is: 1. open terminal 2. copy paste this line into it (change your folder names appropriately) ln -s /Users/[your usernamehere]/Dropbox/firefox-profile /Users/[your usernamehere]/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/[nameofyourfirefoxprofile]
