Mandy - Election Day

Thank you Daberath. I enjoy your comments and appreciate your support very much. I agree with you, I want to be part of all the hoopla the day of election day. I want my "I Voted" sticker so I can wear it all day. You don't get that if you vote absentee. I voted absentee once, 4 years ago when election day was so close to my due date that I was concerned I might be in the hospital and not able to get to the polls. :)

I feel the same way as you when it comes to voting. Its our right to vote, but I also feel its our responsibility as Americans. Many of my family and friends voted absentee; however, I wanted to be involved in the excitement of election day. Today, regardless of the outcome, will make history. I am waiting till after work at 5 to vote and am hoping I have to wait in line! That probably sounds silly to some people, but it will a memory I won't forget.

I have lived in some large cities and nothing ever happened, but I move to a smaller town that is supposed to be safe and not only this but i was vicitim in an armed robbery. When people tell me how safe Owensboro is i just scoff.

Thank goodness this girl was smart enough to know to not get off the bus. Most children are nieve and would have trusted the school to get them where they was supposedly suppose to be going. Awareness can be a key to survival in many situations. Thanks for making others aware. I will forward this message on in my e-mail!

Chase Barfield - This school dropped the ball.

Very disturbing indeed. I encourage everyone reading this to contact their school superintendent and make sure that appropriate security measures are in place. It has been my experience that smaller cities have less formal security policies because of the insulation from the crimes that typically take place in big cities. Predators are becoming more and more aware of this and are venturing into smaller communities. Regardless of city size, our children rely on us for their safety...don't let them down.

momma claire - Do you love your liver?

Oh what a great post!!! Can I ever relate to this since after 3 months of constant gall bladder attacks that went undetected at the hospital (we finally figured out is was my gall bladder), yes I most certainly do love my liver now more than ever!! For all the ladies out there who may have endometriosis take a double look at your diet and pay attention. When your liver slows down it can lead to other things slowing down (like my poor old gall bladder) and after two pregnancies my whole deal got out of whack to say the least. My body had so much inflammation from carb overload and sugar overload my liver was struggling to process all of the processed foods we eat. This led me to feeling totally tired and fatigued all the time and now I'm on my way to better days, switched to a whole grain fresh fruits and veggie diet (with lean protein). Thank you for addressing such a powerful subject, your liver won't tell you what's wrong until something really bad is happening in your body and I commend you for putting the word up!

QOFEVERYTHING - Breast milk in your ice cream?

They don't have complete, accurate and or competent studies done before they throw stuff like this out to the public. And then 10 years from now they'll be telling us it causes cancer or some mental disorder. Then what? Too late! And if the truth was known we probably eat stuff we don't even know really what it contains until several people come up with a new disease a mutation of an already known disease and start asking questions an it gets out to the public. You should take the time and read the pamlet enclosed with your medicine sometime. NOW THAT'S SCARY. Side effects can be worse than what you got the medicine for to begin with. Wait and see what happens 10 years from now to all the women who get that one shot to prevent cirvical cancer. I can't rember the name of the top of my head. LOL! I am one who refuses to give it to my daughter. And with all the things people are saying about immunization shots being linked to Autisim, I am thankful my kids don't need anymore shots because I would probably not give them any. Yeah, I kinda got off subject. LOL! Sorry! I get so aggervated. =)

QOFEVERYTHING - Breast milk in your ice cream?

I am slow but catching up. LOL!! I personally would not buy anything that has human breast milk in it. Why? Because we cannot and do not regulate Human diseases like we can and (to a point) do control the animals diseases. Yes, we do get sick animals and yes, sometimes tainted meat is distributed. Formula has no proven advantages given to a child after the age of 1. Doctors, nurses and health professionals will all tell you to switch your baby to cows milk by or at age 1. My mom said when we were babies she had us all on cows milk by 6 months. =)

Rebecca Still - I say HELL NO to the bailout!!

I agree. If the government wants to hand out 700billion then why give it to people who have failed in the past and/or people who are ok with taking 150 million (like the Merrill Lynch CEO that left in December) while their company is falling apart. If they want to help the economy, give money to those who are working hard and barely making it. They can then take the money and pay back their loans, buy the high-priced gas so they can keep driving to work, and maybe have some left to put groceries on the table.

If I make bad decisions, Uncle Sam isn't there with a check saying, "Sir...you are a good, hard working American. I'm sorry you made financial mistakes that are going to cost your your company...so here's a check...please don't do it again." Yeah right! That is, in effect, what the government is doing right now. Let them fail, crash and burn. Other financial entities that made smarter decisions will fill the void left by those who went under.
