RaeAnn - Commemorating Easter As Cranky Dave

Well said, Dave. I was raised Catholic, and over the course of my life my relationship with God has evolved, and had it's ups and downs. After going to church for the first 18 years of my life, I found myself questioning the 'Catholic way'-- given the fact that the priests are perves and (from what I could see) the churches were more interested in raising funds and building fancier churches. I started to ask myself, would Jesus be happy about this?-- That's what I try to live by... The material world we live in seems to pull people further and further form the Truth and faithfulness. A friend once told me that God is always as close to you as you are to HIM, and I have found that to be quite true... Any way, Happy Easter. :)

Alot of what you wrote is why Jeff and I struggle so much with both those holidays. Religion is manmade. Those holidays are manmade. It's hard for me to connect with them. Have you ever thought about festivals and such that are God-made? If you're ever interested in taking part in Passover, let us know!

Sarah Lyra - Hating Schumi and Having No One To Love Or Hate Today

I think Ferrari is stupid, but I like them, probably a lot because of Rubens and Felipe. That being said, I agree with everything else you wrote. The article is interesting and very well written. "When Felipe Massa lost the 2008 championship on the last turn of the last lap of the last race — after thinking he had won it when he crossed the finish line" I still can't believe that happened. "To Tanya, not so much at all." Who's Tanya? And how old are you? I know, I make a lot of questions, but i'm curious, especially (or specially?) after reading this article. There's a current interview where Rubens talks about his relationship with Michael (and Ralf) when they were working together. He said: "Michael is part of my history but definitely not my friend, though I used to pretend he was. He's the kind of guy who's willing to do anything to win", he also said something about Ralf and Michael fighting for position in a 2004 race, one day after their mother's death. And he thinks Ralf is arrogant. It was pretty interesting, unfortunately the interview is in portuguese. By the way, my english is not that good, so please forgive any misspelling.

I wish people stop saying that! Apple uses AAC for music, which is an open format. Apple didn't 'persuade' music companies to use their proprietary format. They were required by the music companies to add DRM to their open format (which has finally been largely undone, thank God). If there is a proprietary eBook format on an Apple device, I guarantee you it won't be one that Apple is pushing. It will be one that publishers demand. You'll note, your iPhone already does PDF just fine. Assuming that the book publishers insist on a DRM format (which they will), the question then becomes whether Apple & Amazon could get together on a DRM scheme.

Kevin O'Shea - OK Get Rid of the Messiah Notion

OK, but I'm not using blog posts as a back & forth conversation. That's what facebook comments are for. - Which positions has he changed? Answer: none - Which campaign promises has he not kept? Answer: several - How many people have thought that not meeting those promises indicated a complete betrayal of beliefs & positions, as opposed to realistic shifting priorities in the face of an economic crisis and other ways in which the presidency is more complex than single-sentence soundbites? Answer: few Flip-flopping? Really? I was hoping we were done with slinging that particular label around, as it pretty much encourages politicians (and us) to view all issues in only the most shallow way possible. Look for two statements that can be viewed as contradictory, and WHAMMO! The Iraq abuse photos is a prime example of this. Yes, he campaigned on more transparency. So he doesn't want to release the photos now, so he's a FLIP-FLOPPER! OR perhaps he honestly struggled with a desire to have transparency in this area, which he then weighed against the damage and risk he & the military think those photos might expose our troops to. He's said he 'supports our military' in the past, so he's a dreaded flip-flopper no matter what. Release the photos, he's not supporting the military. Don't release them, he's not transparent. 'Bring a new age to Washington'? Still sounds pretty messianic to me. He strikes me as a smart guy, with good intentions, trying to do the right thing. That's why I voted for him. That's why I'm still pretty happy with him, even though I've wished he would have handled a few things differently.

Brandon Atkinson - Will $50 XBox Wireless Adapter Kill Some of My Traffic?

heya, the article is gone but the 360 forums threade is still around: repost: I just got my XBox last weekend. Love it. I wanted to participate in XBox Live but I felt the $99 Microsoft wireless adapter is ridiculously priced. I used bridged networking on Windows XP to allow me to use my laptop as a "wireless adapter" that connects into the XBox's Ethernet port. I use a short patch cord to connect the laptop to the XBox. It's a nice solution that allows you to connect the XBox to a wireless network without paying $99 for the adapter. Of course, if you don't have a laptop, the $99 is a better deal. I have this process posted on my blog with screen captures of each step if you need more detail. http://bimmergeek.blogspot.com/2006/05/configurin... I chose a bridge over Internet Connection Sharing because the bridge's use is specific to connecting different types of network adapters together; and because we have a wireless network already, so there isno functional need for the ICS solution. Plus, I've never used a bridged connection before, so it gave me something to learn. Here's what you do: 1. Select Control Panel/Network Connections and while hovering over Network Connections, right click and choose Open. This will open a panel that should list your network connections. This image shows all my existing network connections. Yours may not have the same adapters. The two adapters that matter are your wireless adapter and your Ethernet adapter. They will have different names than mine because I have renamed them from their default values. I have highlighted the two adapters in the graphic below. 2. If you have both Ethernet and wireless adapters (and you must in order for this to work), then both of them will be listed in the Network Connections panel. Using the ctrl-click selection method or the drag-area method, select both adapters. 3. Right-click one of the adapters and select the Bridge Connections option. 4. You will see a notification that the bridge is being built. This may take a few moments. 5. Once the bridge is complete, you will see the bridge icon and the network adapters. 6. The bridge is only partially complete at this point. To complete the configuration, you need to relate the network adapters to the bridge. I'm not exactly sure why this is because you have to select the adapters to create the bridge in the first place. This is my first bridge, so it's possible there is a better way of doing it. But this process has worked for me. If you know of a more concise way of configuring the bridge, let me know and I'll update the process. In any case, select the bridge, right-click and select Properties. 7. In the Properties dialog, put check marks in the network adapters that you want to bridge. Make sure you select the wireless and Ethernet adapters. 8. Now, the bridge is complete. It will take a few moments for your laptop to finish the configuration, get a new DHCP lease and complete the connections. To verify if your bridge works, connect the XBox 360 to your laptop's Ethernet port and connect with XBox Live. bimmergeek http://www.bimmergeek.com
